Founded officially in 2018, with activities dating back to 2013, MK2 was built on engineering expertise, execution discipline, and a commitment to delivering reliable construction solutions.

MK2 was founded by Eng. Karim El Khatib, whose journey began with a strong engineering background. After graduating from the American University of Beirut with a degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering, he pursued advanced studies in Structures & Bridges at École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, followed by executive education in Real Estate Finance & Development at MIT.
Before founding MK2, Eng. Karim worked with leading international engineering firms, including Dar Al-Handasah and SETEC TPI Paris, where he gained experience on major regional and international projects.
The story of MK2 began during one of Lebanon’s most difficult periods. While the country was facing economic collapse, COVID, instability, and a near halt in the construction sector, the decision was made to return to Beirut and build.
What started with limited resources grew into a trusted construction and development company managing more than $50 million in projects and delivering work across private, commercial, educational, and infrastructure sectors.
