High-Tech Academic Facility & Living Laboratory
The Challenge
The Faculty of Architecture required a cutting-edge facility featuring open-concept design studios, digital fabrication labs, and exhibition spaces. The building itself needed to serve as a visual teaching tool for design students, requiring flawless exposed concrete work and complex structural geometry.
Our Approach
- Exposed Structural Elements: Employed premium architectural-grade formwork to create pristine, unblemished exposed concrete walls and columns that showcase structural engineering in its rawest form.
- Flexible Layouts: Engineered large-span steel trusses to eliminate internal load-bearing walls, creating massive, fluid studio spaces that can be reconfigured using modular partitions.
- Advanced Lab Integration: Coordinated specialized MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) zoning to safely house heavy machinery, 3D printers, and laser cutters, complete with dedicated industrial exhaust systems.
The Outcome
A striking, industrial-modern academic facility that acts as a physical portfolio of building science, providing students with an inspiring, flexible environment for collaborative design.
